When Justice Fails: The Truth About PeaceHealth And OFNHP
This isn’t just my story—it’s a snapshot of an ongoing crisis. Nearly three years later, the same patterns of retaliation, collusion, and silence still exist within PeaceHealth and OFNHP. This page remains live to keep the record public until accountability does.
A true story of courage, accountability,
and what happens when you refuse to stay silent.
Nearly three years ago, PeaceHealth, the hospital I served for eight years, imploded my world when it broke the law and ended my job without warning.
OFNHP, AFT Local 5017 — the union that was supposed to protect me — stood by. And the system designed to ensure justice looked the other way.
I wrote about what happened in my Medium article, “The Day My World Imploded (Again)” —a story of what it’s like to lose not just a job, but a calling.
This page holds the full record of what followed: the appeals, the rally, the proof, and the purpose that grew out of it. Because truth deserves a home.
But this isn’t just history—it’s evidence of a pattern. What happened to me at PeaceHealth continues to happen to others today. This page remains live to hold the record publicly until accountability does.
The aftermath of these events affected every area of my life—including my family and career—and became the reason I built Nirvana on Earth: to help others find calm and clarity after crisis.
Why I’m Sharing This
For two years and two months, I waited for accountability. I believed that if I followed every step, filed every form, and stayed patient, justice would prevail.
It didn’t.
So now I’m sharing it all—transparently and publicly—so that others who’ve been silenced by systems larger than themselves can see what really happens behind closed doors. These documents and clips aren’t about blame; they’re about evidence. They show how easily integrity can be buried beneath bureaucracy—and how important it is to keep telling the truth anyway.
The Day Everything Changed
It all came to an end on an ordinary April morning. After years of being targeted for my union involvement, winning grievances, and shining a light where others stayed silent, I walked into work expecting nothing more than another shift in the ER. Two managers were waiting for me in the hallway near the locker room and asked me to come with them. I had no idea what it was about.
They were notorious for surprise “investigatory” meetings, and those encounters always caused me anxiety—but I did what I’d always done. I prepared to ask for my union rep, trusting that I was protected. My rep had explicitly told me this exact situation could never happen. But it did.
They told me my position had been eliminated. Effective immediately. No warning. No 30-day notice. No offer of another position, as required by our contract. When I said I wanted to speak to my union rep, they told me I could call whoever I wanted after they escorted me out. They stripped me of my badge, watched me empty my locker, and walked me out of the building I’d served for eight years—like a criminal instead of a dedicated employee who had done nothing wrong. I never even got to say goodbye to my ER family.
I didn’t know it then, but that was the moment everything I’d built was gone. What they did was illegal, and for years I believed it would be rectified. It never was.
The aftermath of these events affected every area of my life—including my family and career—and became the reason I built Nirvana on Earth: to help others find calm and clarity after crisis. This page stands as both a record and a reminder—that even when systems fail, truth and integrity still matter.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is speak out loud what everyone else is afraid to say.

Reflections Three Years Later
Time has a way of softening the sharp edges of injustice—but it doesn’t erase the truth.
I’ve come to understand that peace isn’t found in waiting for broken systems to heal themselves. It’s found in choosing clarity, even when it costs you comfort.
The hardest part wasn’t just losing my job—it was realizing that even the systems built to protect workers can fail them. The National Labor Relations Board—the federal agency meant to defend worker rights—had every opportunity to act. They didn’t. And when that system looks away, real people fall through the cracks.
That choice—the decision to speak when silence would be easier—is why Nirvana on Earth exists. It’s a space built on transparency, healing, and courage.
If you’ve been failed by the systems meant to protect you, this page is for you.
You are not alone. Your story matters. And you deserve peace.
“The hardest part isn’t losing the job—it’s realizing the system you trusted was never built to protect you. What broke me also built the reason I created Nirvana on Earth—proof that calm and clarity can rise from collapse.”
